Hector Pettenghi was born in Cadiz, Spain. He courses his university studies in Seville obtaining the degree in Electronics Physics in 2002.
He was a pre-doctoral researcher at IMSE-CNM in Seville, Spain being a member of the Mixed signal research group from 2002 to 2009. He obtained the PhD with honors in 2009 in the program of Microelectronics.
He was working as senior researcher at Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores - Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Lisboa, Portugal (INESC-ID), being a member of the Signal Processing Systems (SIPS) research group from 2009 to 2014.
From 2014 he is working as Associate Professor at the Department of Electric Engineering in the Florianópolis campus of UFSC, Brazil.
